Next to the main building of the guesthouse, there is an independent bungalow called with the swahili name of ginger, Tangawizi. This spice is used in the traditional medicine as a cough remedy or as an energizer. In the local cuisine, it is used with cardamom and lemongrass in the making of chai (spiced tea) and for flavoring many dishes.
The bungalow is located in front of the sea and it has a spacious porch and three comfortable sleeping accommodations (one double bed and a single one). The room has a private bathroom provided with hot water. Among the four bedrooms of our guesthouse, this is surely the most characteristic for its colors and furniture. The bed is local swahili-designed, the closet is the recycling of an old dhow (the traditional boat), the window shutters are made of woven leaves of palm leaves. The view is breathtaking and just outside the porch there is a private beach area for the bungalow. The room has a water heater, european electrical sockets, bed nets for mosquitos and it is provided with bath towels and bed linen.
